DESCRIPTION:“The Beauty Of Winter\, Plein Air Opportunity” \nA warm fire provided and Hot Lunch.\nEvent: This is a one-day workshop\nDate: March 3rd 2018\, from 10am – 4pm.\nLevel: Some Painting Experience Required\nMedium: Recommended Oil (given time of year)\nLocation: Creations Art Gallery – Ancaster\, ON.\, Canada \n  \n\n  \nTo book your place\, register on-site and add to cart. An invoice will be emailed with a followup confirming availability of space. You are then welcome to pay by phone or on the Commerce Page. \nThis studio workshop is for adults who want to improve painting skills. Beginner\, intermediate or advanced levels are all welcome. Having some painting skills would be a definite asset. We will be landscape painting on the grounds of the St. Mary’s Retreat Centre. Acrylics\, traditional oil or water-miscible paints may be used depending on student preference. Age range for students from 18 and up. This workshop would require students having their own materials (List provided) and able to carry their own equipment. (Help may be available) Grounds are a moderate level of difficulty. Weather is not predictable so there will be an option to paint indoors if need be. The workshop is designed to help students understand basic fundamentals of plein air painting. Sharpen skills of observation and learn how to create value studies\, sketches and practicing techniques as demonstrated by the instructor. Artist materials will be discussed and recommended. DESCRIPTION:Art Workshop with Sam Paonessa \nImpressionistic Landscape & Plein Air Opportunity \nArt Workshop with Sam Paonessa \nImpressionistic Landscape & Plein Air Opportunity \nSam Panonessa\nSam has recently returned from a painting tour of Tuscany. Enjoy the day enlightened by his new inspirations. \nThe workshop will start out with a short demo\, followed by a question and answer session. The rest of the day will be spent painting outdoors on the charming property of Mount Mary retreat\, with one-on-one instruction surrounded by scenic woods\, rolling grass hills\, hidden ponds and forest trails. Instruction will address painting principles such as tone\, colour\, form\, texture and composition. Demonstrations\, individual attention and encouragement will increase the student’s creative confidence and style\, while being briefly introduced to painting essentials including composition\, perspective\, landmark representation\, brush techniques\, colour mixing\, contrast and sense of depth. Students can choose to paint in either oils or acrylics. \nThis workshop is for the artist with some painting experience. Some review of the basic principles of painting will be covered while various techniques are suggested and explored.
