Removing Decades of Smoke & Varnish
Damage to a work of art may be more serious. A tear in the canvas, a puncture or flaking and loss of paint can be remedied by an expert. If the support (the canvas) of a painting is weak, it can be reinforced with re-lining. Tears can be repaired and areas, where paint has flaked off, can be meticulously repainted.

Restoring a work of art means putting it back into its original condition. Restoration can turn a dull and unimpressive picture into a sparkling and powerful addition to your home.

Treatments include dry cleaning, water washing, stain reduction & removal, tear repairs, loss restoration, liquid paper pulp treatments, lining, adhesive removal, aqueous and non-aqueous de-acidification, UV bleaching, humidification, flattening, and in-painting.
Also a preventative approach for newspaper print, a treatment to help prevent yellowing.
We employ a minimal approach to treatment, using only reversible materials and techniques.

We had two oil paintings (handed down through family) that were 40+ years old. They were in need of some TLC !!
Dan inspected the paintings (he identified some slight canvas/paint defects that weren’t noticed by us initially) and provided a thorough evaluation and estimate of costs and expected timeline to execute the restoration.
The finished product is amazing……. They truly appear as if they were just painted yesterday !
The colors are bright, fresh, crisp & vibrant……. The room that we have them in has ample lighting all day, and as the light changes throughout the day, the paintings seem to offer a different look each time you glance at them.
Thank you very much for restoring a very sentimental part of our past !

I was given a framed collection of three rare, autographed photos. I wanted to verify that the matte, backer and mounting was of museum quality (for longevity). In addition install UV proof approved acrylic.
I also had another signed photo with a cheap frame. Dan offered to reframe it, exactly duplicating the frame and matte of the first. First class conservator quality work that has drawn positive comments from viewers over the last year.
Dan is very knowledgeable and personable. The gallery also exhibits an exceptional collection of Canadian art.
I commend his services highly to any discriminating collector.

From the very moment I walked in the door to inquire about framing, it was obvious that exceptional service was of ultimate importance among their staff. Dan helped me select the perfect matting, framing and glass for my photograph print. It was a gift and with only one week before Christmas, I wasn't sure he could complete it in time. However, he did not disappoint, and the end result was even far more beautiful than I could have imagined. We have been dealing with Dan for a while . We have purchased prints from him and have had several things framed by him. We recently took a small painting we had bought for advice from Dan. He helped us choose a nice frame and mat for it.He said it would be completed in two to three weeks.He called in a week to say it was ready to pick up. The painting looked beautiful. He did a wonderful job. He is always very friendly and accomodating. He has a beautiful gallery to look at. He gives different options and ideas and is reasonably priced.

Creations was great to work with! Given the pandemic and lockdown, I was still able to view and purchase art due to Dan Faulkner's creative workarounds. Dan was willing to place the interested pieces (having seen them on their interactive website) in the gallery's windows for me to contemplate, while we discuss the artists (Eventov and Henderson) masked and socially distanced outside. In addition, he brought an easel outside and placed the works upon it, so I could approach and view them safely! Dan is a wealth of knowledge about the artists he represents and their techniques. I highly recommend the gallery!

Excellent customer service! Thanks to Dan at creations gallery in assisting me purchase a painting for our new home.I found this gallery on a google search. And was a little leery as I live in edmonton and couldn't see the painting or gallery other than photos.
I spoke with Dan on the phone prior to purchase as he shared with me further knowledge and details about the artist and his work. Which brought greater meaning to the piece.
He was helpful in answering any of my questions and was prompt and replying to any and all emails.
( unlike multiple other galleries I contacted that couldn't be bothered to reply to my email inquires)
Upon receiving the package it was incredibly well packed in its custom made crate. We are delighted with our painting and would gladly use creations gallery in the future. Great experience.

Great service for a special project We brought a very large oil painting home from France and needed it mnounted on stretchers. The gallery did the job quickly and at a modest price. The owners were easy to work with and helped us greatly.
