Trees
There is something about trees that make us think differently about our world. A towering skyscraper might cause us to appreciate human ingenuity, but a towering tree puts our attention somewhere else. You don’t need to look very far to see a tree that is older than you.
Trees help us think in a scale of time that goes beyond us, and taking the long view helps us think bigger about our lives and about what has been put into our world.
