Creations Art Gallery is a family-owned gallery and custom framing shop in Ancaster, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect through creations-gallery.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

What we collect
When you enquire about or request a piece of artwork — your name, email address, postal address, and phone number, along with the details of what you are interested in.
When you contact us — through the chat window, by email, or by filling in a form: whatever you choose to tell us, and your contact details so we can reply.
When you subscribe to our newsletter — your email address, and your name if you give it.
Automatically, as you browse — your IP address, the pages and artworks you view, the browser and device you use, roughly where you are, and how you arrived at our site. This happens through cookies and similar technologies, which are described in full on our Cookies & ad choices page.
Why we collect it
- To answer your enquiries and arrange the sale, framing, or delivery of artwork.
- To keep records of our sales, as our accounting and tax obligations require.
- To send you our newsletter, if you have asked for it.
- To understand how our website is used, so we can improve it.
- To show our work to people who have visited the site, through advertising on other websites.
Payment
We do not take payment on this website and we never see or store your card details. When you request a piece, we send you an invoice and arrange payment with you directly.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use cookies and similar tools to understand how the site is used and to show you relevant advertising on other websites. This includes services from Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Pinterest.
One of these deserves a specific mention. So that Meta can tell which of our advertisements led to a sale, our site sends Meta a scrambled version of the email address or phone number entered at checkout. This is done using a one-way process, so Meta does not receive these details in readable form. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We do share it with the companies that help us run the gallery and its website, and only so they can do that work for us:
- Our website host and security providers.
- Google, Meta and Pinterest, for the analytics and advertising described above.
- Mailchimp and HubSpot, which send our email and manage enquiries.
- Zendesk, which runs the chat window.
- Shipping and framing partners, where needed to complete your order.
- Our accountants, and our professional advisers.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or those of others.
Where your information is processed
Our website is hosted in the United States, in Michigan, and most of the service providers listed above operate there too. Your personal information is therefore stored and processed outside Canada, where it is subject to the laws of those countries. This means it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of those countries.
How long we keep it
We keep records of sales and enquiries for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet our accounting and tax obligations, and then we dispose of them securely. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Email, and how to unsubscribe
Every marketing email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribe requests promptly. Unsubscribing stops our marketing email; it does not stop messages about a specific order, such as an invoice or a delivery update.
If you begin a checkout and do not complete it, we may send you a reminder about the items you left behind.
Your choices and your rights
You may:
- Ask what we hold about you, and ask for a copy.
- Ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date.
- Withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide certain things.

- Unsubscribe from our email at any time.
To make any of these requests, contact our Privacy Officer using the chat window at the bottom of this page, or write to us at the postal address above. We will respond as quickly as we can, and there is no charge for a reasonable request.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Keeping it safe
We protect personal information with security measures appropriate to how sensitive it is, including encrypted connections to our website and restricted access to our records. No website can promise perfect security, but we take this seriously.
Children
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date below, and significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
