Aro De la joie dans les yeux 36×36
De la joie dans les yeux — Joy in the Eyes — is an original acrylic painting by Canadian abstract artist Aro, on a 36″ by 36″ canvas. Against a deep ultramarine ground, hundreds of coloured strokes burst outward from a quiet blue centre, and the double reading is immediate: a firework at full bloom, or an iris seen very close, alive with light. The title settles the question in favour of the eye — this is what joy looks like when someone cannot hide it.
Original Abstract Acrylic Painting by Aro
The eye goes straight to the still centre, a dark blue pupil left almost untouched, then rides the burst outward. Strokes of red, orange, yellow, green and white radiate in every direction, short near the core and longer as they fly, each one tapering like a spark losing speed. Farther out, the burst breaks into orbiting dots of yellow, green and orange that drift across the open blue, and a few looping green threads swing wide of the whole formation like a hand tracing the afterglow. However long you look, the painting keeps its charge; the composition is all release, with the calm held exactly at the middle.

Colour, Texture, and Technique
The ground is a saturated royal ultramarine, and everything above it is keyed to sing against that depth: scarlet and orange, sun yellow, spring green, sky blue and pure white. The detail view reveals a glossy, almost liquid surface — each radiating stroke laid on thickly enough to hold its ridge, with drops and spatter sitting proud of the sheen. It is Aro’s thrown-and-pulled technique at its most exuberant, and it is easy to see why her work has found its way into notable collections, Michelle Obama’s among them.
Where This Artwork Works Best
The room view shows it on a white wall above a pale oak console, where the blue reads jewel-deep and the colours carry across the room. That is its natural role: the single point of colour in a calm, light interior — an entry hall, a living room, a child-friendly family space, or a workplace that wants genuine warmth. It flatters white, cream and pale grey walls, holds its own against navy, and pairs happily with light woods and linen. For a collector, it is the kind of painting guests ask about first. I know right away whether I am doing well or not. When I look at myself in the mirror, my mission is to see joy in my eyes. Life is filled with colors and ways of approaching it.
Becoming aware of the power within us, of our ability to protect ourselves and to take only what belongs to us, is a good starting point to connect with the powerful joy of being alive. As an adult, when I placed paint on my first canvas and rediscovered my child’s heart, I reconnected with who I truly am. My essence is pure, joyful, loving and kind.
Playing without seeking a result, savoring the present moment, looking at the world with hope… that is a recipe that puts joy in the eyes.
Care and Display
A gentle wipe with a clean, dry, soft cloth is all the maintenance this surface asks. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from humid rooms so the colours stay at full strength.
