Description

Patricia Gagic Sincerely 7 Pravscate 40×30

Sincerely 7 — Pravscate by Patricia Karen Gagic is an original oil on canvas measuring 40″ high × 30″ wide, the seventh letter in her Sincerely series — and the warmest. Its invented title keeps its meaning private, the way a sealed letter does; the painting itself is generous. Copper and honey light pours down a soft sky toward a quiet plain, where something has been gathered and left — a cairn, a bundle, a marker — for whoever comes this way next.

Original Abstract Oil Painting by Patricia Karen Gagic

The upper two-thirds glow: sienna, copper, and honey-gold blended in long diagonal sweeps, brightening to a molten patch right of centre like sun behind dust. A pale mist rises from the left and softens everything it crosses. Below, the land turns taupe and grey-brown, and the painting’s centre of gravity appears: a stacked, cairn-like mass of black and umber strokes, crowned with dark splayed gestures and lit with ochre-gold at its heart. Over and through it, Gagic threads tangles of white filament — wiry, raised lines like bleached grass or unravelled cord — and leaves a single small note of pale blue tucked low in the dark, easy to miss and quietly essential.

Colour, Texture, and Technique

The palette is built on copper, sienna, and honey-gold over taupe and grey-brown, anchored by black and umber and detailed with white filament lines and a touch of pale blue. The atmosphere is blended to a soft, luminous grain, while the central mass is worked wet and heavy — poured, pressed, and scraped — so the white threads sit physically on top of it. A satin-gloss finish deepens the warmth. The painting is signed in red at the lower right.

Where This Artwork Works Best

At 40″ × 30″, Pravscate brings sunset warmth wherever it hangs — a living room with leather and warm woods, a dining room lit low in the evening, an entry that should feel welcoming. It is especially at home with terracotta, camel, cream, and aged brass, and it gives north-facing rooms the light they never get. For a collector of Canadian contemporary abstraction, it is the ember of the Sincerely series.
