Robert Amirault Title: Coastal Calm Size: 36″ x 50″

The Pacific coast offers so many great views of water in all of its many moods. A view from atop a range of cliffs shows how at times the ocean can present itself as very calm and peaceful…a strong contrast to many of its more violent times.

I stood for a long time to observe the rhythm and the graceful movement of the water at this Laguna Beach location.

In my home studio I attempted to capture that same feeling of calm on the vast and seemingly endless ocean.
